Fire Protection -> Dry Risers

Dry Risers

Under BS9990/2006 Wet and Dry risers should be visually inspected every six months and pressure tested annually. The responsibility of ensuring that this is carried out belongs to either the Owner of the premises, the Manager or Management Company.

Failure to adhere to these rules and regulations could result in litigation and may also invalidate your insurance if a fire situation were to occur and the system were to fail due to a lack of regular maintenance.

All staff that carries out the Testing of Dry/Wet Riser systems are ex-fire service personnel with over 30 years experience in the use of Dry/Wet Risers. Testing is also carried out in a fire engine or pump vehicle depending on the availability of water at the site location. Dry Risers can also be primarily tested with air if persons on site are not 100% sure there would be no water damage if water was used straight away. This is a particular advantage in buildings where a water leak would have devastating effects such as an apartment block or offices.
