Senior Ansul and Fire Extinguisher Service Engineer

Senior Engineer to carry out regular servicing, reactive maintenance and commissioning of our clients R102 Ansul Systems and Portable Fire Extinguishers. Ensuring up to date knowledge of, and compliance with, all relevant Standards.

Typical Responsibilties

  • To work with and under instruction from the engineering manager and department manager complying with work instructions, company policies and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Maintain an accurate and high standard of customer, company and personal paperwork / data recording.
  • To maintain a working knowledge of current standards and as well as undertaking training courses.
  • To act as a Company Ambassador. You must be smart in appearance, pleasant in attitude and capable of communicating diplomatically to strengthen customer relationships.
  • Regular routine servicing and reactive maintenance of our clients’ R102 Ansul Systems and Portable Fire Extinguishers. 
  • Willingness to attend to short notice reactive calls that are escalated and provide senior engineer presence on site, which in instances may lead to longer working hours.
  • To liaise, provide support and work in conjunction with the engineering manager/ department manager
  • Lead by example with the completion and submission of all Engineer report forms / Reactive forms / PPM forms, timesheets and online training modules in line with timeframes and deadlines.
  • Assist with the training and development of engineers including on-site training as required i.e., attend with an engineer to ensure further follow up visits are reduced.
  • Mentor the service engineers.
  • Drive efficiencies, control overtime and excessive travel.
  • Improve and maintain the standards of workmanship and reporting.
  • To provide technical support for engineers and provide assessment on any further training that may be required.                                                                                                                                                                  
  • Undertake ‘On-Call’ duties as part of your Area Team and take on responsibility of out of hours escalation in the absence of the engineering manager                                                                                                                                                    
  • Carry out Engineer toolbox talks
  • Carrying out site surveys for installation of Ansul systems and fire extinguishers where required
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role.
