Senior Software Developer / Cloud Engineer
The Protec R&D team comprises of Software, Hardware and Mechanical Engineers and Physicists. We are now looking to expand this team and compliment the existing skill set to support the development of the next generation of Fire Protection and Security systems. We intend to enhance the user experience by integrating remote operations via cloud-based technology and interactive user interfaces. The ideal candidate will bring their extensive experience in these areas and will be fully supported whilst working on multiple projects within a highly regulated, multiskilled development environment.

Typical Responsibilties
- Be the Protec champion for Cloud based connectivity, updating and implementing the engineering guidelines for design, development, deployment, de-bugging and maintenance of cloud-based systems ensuring efficient data storage and adherence to security policies.
- Cross function collaboration with the R&D team, Digital systems, and wider Protec end users to evaluate and identify technically and commercially optimal cloud solutions.
- Responsible for writing new Product Technical Specifications and delivering the project requirements including modifying and improving existing systems.
- Supporting Resource allocation by identifying the necessary tasks to deliver the requirement in manageable chunks to be delivered using a Sprint methodology.
- Clear communications to the R&D Project Manager on current progress and mitigation for any tasks which face delay.
- Any other duties commensurate with the role.
