Special Projects Design Engineer

To assist in the preparation of designs and estimates for new life safety installations. This will include the use of Protec and other third party equipment and associated systems to develop integrated solutions in compliance with client specifications. With a sound knowledge of British Standards, you will assist the Special Projects bid teams to prepare quotations, technical submissions, and sealed tenders for new works, from initial concept to practical completion.

Typical Responsibilties

  • To prepare and submit quotations in accordance with both client and British Standard requirements and to ensure tenders are accurate and customer orders correctly processed.
  • To assist with technical bid writing including methodologies, sequencing, and technical submission documents.
  • The preparation of conceptual electronic design drawings and system schematic wiring details.
  • To liaise with the Sales Manager/Sales Engineer and the Project/Design Teams to prepare and submit quotations to prospective clients.
  • To assist in preparing cost information, profit forecast and to ensure tenders are properly collated.
  • To assist in obtaining competitive written quotations from our suppliers or sub-contractors for inclusion in our tender bids.
  • To technically assess 3rd party quotations for compliance.
  • To represent the Company at initial site meetings and complete site surveys as deemed necessary.
  • To process client sales order and liaise with project engineers on installation orders to ensure customer/job files are prepared.
  • Undertake any administration and phone duties as required.
  • Any other duties commensurate with your position.
