Connecting People and Technology at The Event Birmingham

Following the success of our events in Manchester and Leeds, we were delighted to bring the next edition to Birmingham. creating an opportunity to connect with both familiar faces and those discovering Protec for the first time. The Birmingham event was specifically designed to bring people together. Whether attendees joined us as long-standing partners, first-time visitors or exhibitors, the day provided a welcoming environment to explore ideas, share experiences, and build meaningful connections within the industry.

From the moment doors opened, there was a strong sense of purpose and positivity throughout the venue. The Event Birmingham was carefully structured to balance informative sessions with open networking, allowing attendees to engage in a way that suited them. For those new to Protec, it offered a clear introduction to who we are and how we work, while also giving a broader view of the people, innovation and collaboration that drive the industry forward.

The standout feature of the event was our demonstration area. This space was designed to give attendees a hands-on experience with our equipment, supported by direct access to our industry specialists. Rather than simply seeing products on display, visitors were able to interact with the technology, ask questions in real time and gain practical insight into how our solutions work in real world environments.

This approach created a highly engaging and informative experience. It encouraged deeper conversations, enabled more meaningful demonstrations, and gave attendees the confidence to explore solutions in detail. The presence of our team within this space ensured that every interaction was both knowledgeable and approachable, helping to create a strong connection between our expertise and the needs of those attending.

Alongside this, our Exhibitor Arena provided an additional layer to the event. A range of organisations joined us to showcase their products and services, enriching the overall experience and offering attendees further opportunities for discovery and conversation.  We are incredibly grateful to all the exhibitors who took part. Their contributions, enthusiasm, and willingness to engage played an important role in enhancing the event and fostering a collaborative environment.

Across the outdoor networking space in our CPD room, the educational sessions formed an important part of the day. Hosted by members of the Protec team, these sessions provided a valuable insight into key areas of the industry. Topics included aspirating detection, evacuation alert systems, the role of AI in CCTV and our latest introduction to our CPD library, ‘Sound Decisions: Introduction to Voice Alarm Systems’. These sessions were well attended throughout the day and offered a more structured learning opportunity, complementing the hands-on experience available elsewhere at the event. The combination of practical demonstrations and informative CPDs ensured that attendees could both experience and understand the technology equally, creating a well-rounded and valuable learning environment.

At lunch we provided the guests with a curated street food offering, which brought a more relaxed and social element to the day. It provided a natural setting for conversations to continue, allowing attendees to connect in a more informal way while remaining fully immersed in the event. Music was incorporated thoughtfully, with a live DJ providing subtle backdrop music throughout the afternoon. This helped maintain a welcoming and positive atmosphere throughout the day without taking focus away from the event’s core purpose.

What stood out most in Birmingham was the quality of engagement. Attendees spent time exploring each area, conversations developed naturally, and there was a clear sense of openness and collaboration throughout. It was particularly encouraging to see so many people actively participating in the demonstration area, making the most of the opportunity to experience our solutions first hand.

“Bringing this event to life was about creating the right environment for people to connect in a meaningful way. I’m genuinely proud of how it came together, and seeing the energy, engagement, and quality of conversations on the day made all the planning truly worthwhile.”
