The Financial Accounting department of Protec Group in Nelson are a team with responsibility for a wide and varied range of accounting, general ledger, compliance and group internal reporting activities. We aim to provide a high level of satisfaction to our customers as well as an enjoyable and supportive yet challenging, environment in which to work. As a key member of our team, based from the Nelson Head office you will be providing proactive, efficient service to the CFO for the financial reporting functions for all Protec Group entities. Typical Responsibilties
Leadership
- Effectively leading local accounting, tax and internal control employees, delegating as appropriate and the department is adequately managed, staffed and resourced, further developing employees’ skillsets
- Guiding the team into further sophistication of processes and methods
- Supporting the IT-system transformation from finance perspective and thus be an integral part of the change team
Financial statements:
- Overseeing the accounting team and processes to level up current financial systems and accounting processes
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS & UK GAAP ensuring compliance with legal regulations and internal group guidelines
- Be the interface to auditors externally and group-internal stakeholders
- Challenging and providing insights on all accounting matters related to all entities
- Supporting the controlling team to maintain operational excellence in finance
Taxation:
- Oversee and the document company taxation processes and ensure company compliance to VAT rules and Legislation, oversee submission of VAT Return/Intrastat reporting, oversee annual Corporation Tax computations, annual PSA agreement, Tax Award Scheme
