Project Engineer - Rail
Reporting to the Contracts Manager and supporting the Project Managers in the successful delivery of fire detection and associated life safety system projects, including works across the Rail and other major infrastructure environments. The role will coordinate design, procurement, installation, Quality, assurance, testing, commissioning and handover activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, compliantly, on programme and in accordance with project requirements and company procedures.

Typical Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in the day-to-day delivery of allocated projects.
- Create and review method statements, risk assessments and ITP’s etc and ensure site works follow the requirements of these.
- Coordinate design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning activities with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Liaise professionally with colleagues, clients, principal contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Attendance at internal and client design, assurance, planning, commercial, construction and commissioning meetings.
- Complete regular site surveys in advance of and during installation and commissioning activities.
- Monitor project programmes, key milestones, labour, materials and plant requirements, and provide accurate progress updates to ensure accurate reporting and updating.
- Review drawings, specifications, technical submissions and project documentation, raising technical queries and coordinating changes where required.
- Support project commercial and contractual administration, including accurate records, NEC notifications, Communications, Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events where applicable.
- Support system installation, commissioning and witnessing activities and manage detailed progress trackers.
- Assist in the preparation of technical submittals, RFI’s, Assurance and As Built documentation.
- Ensure works comply with approved health and safety arrangements, quality requirements, relevant standards, Company procedures and project close-out requirements.
